2 BALL MULTIPLIER STABLEFORD + INDIVIDUAL RULES AND HISTORY
This game is played as a 2-Man Team Event.
Definition: A Stableford Event is a golf game in which the object is to get the highest score. That’s because in Stableford events, golfers are awarded points based on their scores in relation to a fixed score for each hole.
Your fixed score is the PAR for the hole plus the strokes as per your handicap for that hole. i.e. Handicap = 20, PAR of hole = 4, Index of hole = 2/20: You have 2 strokes on the hole. Your fixed score is 6 for this hole.
If your handicap was 1, you do not have a stroke on the hole and your fixed score for this hole would be 4.
– More than 1 over fixed score (or no score returned) = 0 points
– One over fixed score = 1 point
– Fixed score = 2 points
– One under fixed score = 3 points
– Two under fixed score = 4 points
– Three under fixed score = 5 points
– Four under fixed score = 6 points
Members of a Team playing in a Two-Man Stableford Multiplier Event play as individuals in accordance with “Rule 32 – Bogey, Par and Stableford Competitions” of the Rules of Golf, using one scorecard.
After completion of a hole, each individual’ score for the hole is recorded and the Stableford points are calculated and also recorded. Both Stableford points for the hole are multiplied and the resulting score is recorded for the team. (i.e. 2×0=0, 2×1=2, etc.)
On completion of play, each player is responsible for the correct completion and return of the team’ scorecard in exactly the same manner as required in any single event. The Committee should arrange to have some means of team identification such as a team number, affixed to scorecards in order to assist in compilation of team scores on completion of play.
The total net score is determined by adding the team’ scores of each hole.
The winning team is the one with the highest score.
