Steak & Ale Day – A great day was had by all on Steak & Ale Day on 23 March. There were 80+ players on the day. Congratulations to all the winners. Thanks to the Match & Greens Committee for organising the day and working hard on the day. Also, thanks to the other volunteers around the course and to Carmelo & Rosemary in the bistro for the great food.

Ladies Interclub Bronze – Friday 29 March saw our team hosting this round at the Valley and taking on The Coast. They had a great win 4½ to ½. Well done to the team.

Defibrillator – The club has a defibrillator thanks to a partial sports grant. Thanks to Kerryn Coldrey for doing the work to get this grant and equipment and also for arranging the awareness training which was conducted on 27 March. There was a good turnout on the night.

Upcoming events – Thursday 4 April is the 2nd Rd of the Women’s Golf NSW Medal stroke. Saturday 6 April is the 1st Rd of the Men’s 4BBB Stroke championships with the 2nd Rd on 13 April. Remember the Easter Cup will be on us shortly being the best 3 of 5 rounds from 18 – 22 April. Make sure you play at least 3 rounds to be eligible for the big prize. Masters’ Pennant starts on Sunday 28 April with the first round being played at the Valley against Cabramatta.

Weekly happenings – Happy Hour is Fridays 5pm – 6pm, Darts and Euchre are run every Wednesday from 7.30pm, Meat Raffles – are Wednesday & Friday nights and Saturday afternoon and Grocery Grab is run at 7.00pm on Wednesday nights.

The Course – The work being done by Ross, Ed, Greg, Bruce, Peter and the volunteers is keeping the course in great condition. A big congratulations to them all. We have had many comments about the greens and how they are better than some other courses who have more greens staff.

We will be laying more concrete soon to finish more of the path between 3rd and 4th tees. If you might be able to help contact Bruce Alexander for dates and times. We have also received our replacement for the ‘mule’ thanks to a grant and money raised by the Ladies Committee.
