Knockout Championships
The Ladies champion is Gai Bass who defeated Kerryn Coldrey at the 19th hole in bad conditions on Thursday 30 March. Congratulations Gai and commiserations Kerryn. I am sure everyone admires the tenacity of both ladies for finishing in such bad conditions.
The Men’s knockout champion is Ian Elliott who defeated Peter Weewan on Saturday 25 March 3 and 1 in soggy conditions. Congratulations Ian and well done Peter for playing so well through the event.
Major Pennant
Our Major Pennant team performed very well having an away draw and winning all our home matches. The result for our section came down to our last match against Asquith at Asquith. The Valley needed a win but unfortunately the weather prevented play and the result was a draw which meant Asquith won the section. Divisional finals are being played at Terrey Hills on Sunday 2nd April. Palm Beach and Asquith are the finalists for our Division.
Course Maintenance
When the wet conditions improve measures will be taken by the greenkeeper and volunteers to patch up greens that have been damaged. Volunteers are endeavouring to keep waterlogged areas cut down. Please come along and help when you can as extra hands to help are always welcome.
Trivia
Trivia is on Friday 7 April. Richard and Meg Sheehan are our quiz masters this month. Come along and test how well you remember things that happened in 2016. Remember to book a table. Peter’s Bistro will be open from 5.30pm for dinner so come down and have a meal before trivia starts at 7.45pm before the meat raffle.
Euchre and Darts
Euchre and Darts are played each Wednesday from 7.30pm. New players are always welcome so come along and test your playing skills. You also have the chance of winning a meat tray (meat raffles are also available Friday nights and Saturdays).
