A reminder to members & guests to keep our community safe – Social distancing, limited patron numbers & enhanced cleaning measures are in place to ensure everyone enjoys their visit to The Valley.

Entry/Exit to the clubhouse via the main front door.
All patrons MUST sign in using “VisitSafe” QRcode or by writing your name/phone number on the sheet provided.

GET INTO GOLF – We’re proud to be supporting this initiative encouraging women to get into golf. Tuesday 25/8 saw 10 ladies try the new format & we look forward to following their progression over the 6 wk program and hopefully welcoming them as members! If you know somebody interested in learning, please contact Co-ordinator Andrea McGann on 0419- 520928 for more info (we already have 4 ladies on the waitlist for next term!)

VOLUNTEERING We rely on volunteers to get a lot of general tasks around the course such as emptying bins, branch pickup, mowing, brush cutting, weeding, gardening etc. If you have an hour or so to spare any day of the week, please reach out to either Ross, Peter Weewan (general maintenance) or Wendy Hicks (Wednesday gardening).

VALE – KEITH MIDDLETON 1931-2020

Many of our members will miss Keith, a true gentleman and club member for over 40 years.
Apart from golf Keith played Rugby League for
– Nth Sydney Bears 1948–54
– the Rabbitohs 1956

Represented Australia in an Ashes tour 1950

He was also an avid tennis player.
But did you know Keith managed to record a Hole in One 13 times?
Many of us will never achieve one… RIP Keith.

ON THE COURSE

GREENS VERTI-DRAIN

A mini coring has taken place to encourage airflow into the greens in the lead up to Spring’s growing season. You may have noticed they are running a bit faster now that they are drying out and as always it’s important you repair your pitch marks!

After all the rain once again destroyed the bunkers, Mo & Blake have been busy rejuvenating so they could be brought back into play. Preferred lie in bunkers is still in place whilst there are no rakes being used.
