VALLEY NEWS 2018 No 7

Ladies Charity Day – Have you got your team together and entered the Ladies Charity Day event on Monday 6 August yet. Well you had better get moving. Registration is at 8.00am and it is a shotgun start at 8.45am. Remember all proceeds go to the Spina Bifida unit at the Sydney Children’s Hospital. If you would like to assist by providing sponsorship for the event or a donation then contact Kerryn Coldrey.

Christmas in July – A great night organised by the Events Committee for our Christmas in July event on Saturday 21 July. The food was fabulous – so well done to Carmeillo and Rosemary. Well done to the Events Committee for all their hard work.

Men’s Medal of Medals – Congratulations to Angelo Tringas for winning the Men’s Medal of Medals for 2017/18 decided on 7 July.
Trivia – Friday 3 August. Dan and Karen Williams are our quiz masters this month. The theme is ‘Straight A’s’ trivia. Trivia will start at 7.45pm before the meat raffle. Gather your team, book a table, dine at Melo’s Bistro and have a fun night. $10 per player for $300 + lucky door prizes.

Upcoming events – Friday 27 July will see the first draw of our promotional ‘used meat raffle’ tickets for your chance to win $100 if you are there or 2 x $25 vouchers for the bistro if you are not. If you have put your used meat raffle tickets into the barrel, then come along for a chance to win. Super Sunday is 29 July for a chance to win $100. 29 July is also the 2nd round of the Women’s Super Salver and the 5th round of Golf NSW Medal. Thursday 2 August is the Women’s qualifying for the Chick of the Walk. The 2nd, 3rd and final round are the following 3 Thursday’s. Sunday 5 August is the 1st round of the Mixed Foursomes. The final round is 12 August. Tuesday 14 August is the 1st round of the Vets Championships with the 2nd round on 21 August.

Euchre & Darts & meat raffles – Euchre and Darts is on every Wednesday Night starting at 7.30pm. Come along and have a meal at Melo’s Bistro and play. Meat raffles are drawn every Wednesday and Friday night and around 4.00pm Saturdays.

The Course – Greens renovations with regard to coring and/or tining will be from 22 August, weather permitting. We ask for anyone who can assist to please advise Bruce Alexander, Club Captain of your availability. Diseased casuarina trees by the 6th green are being removed thanks to Gary Malpass, Grant Adlam and the volunteers.

Thanks to Dave Sechney for the work in repairing a faulty pump. Members and visitors will notice improvements to various tees with new steps and levelling being achieved by our members.
