VALLEY NEWS 2018 No 6

Ladies 4BBB Stroke Championships – Congratulations to the 2018 Ladies 4BBB Stroke Champions, Kerryn Coldrey and Lynda Ritchie. Also, well done to the runners-up, Marilyn Joma and Marlene Hayward and to all who participated.

Men’s Foursomes Championships – Congratulations to the winners – A Grade – Ian Elliott and Nick Katholos, B Grade – James Katsoulis and John Kottaridis, and C Grade – Gunner Moreau and Peter Kennedy.

Ladies Charity Day – Don’t forget to get your team together and enter the Ladies Charity Day event on Monday 6 August. It is a shotgun start at 8.45am. Remember all proceeds go to the Spina Bifida unit at the Children’s Hospital. If you would like to assist by providing sponsorship for the event or a donation then contact Kerryn Coldrey.

Master’s Pennant – We had a strong win in the last event at the Valley on 17 June. We would like to thank six members who filled in to ensure we were able to field a full team for two of the matches, namely, John Sentas, Kevin Beck, Dan Pillay, Vaine Tekura, Ian Davis and Paul McFarland.

Trivia – Friday 6 July. Dan and Karen Williams are our quiz masters this month. The theme is ‘where is’ trivia. Trivia will start at 7.45pm before the meat raffle. Gather your team, book a table, dine at Melo’s Bistro and have a fun night. $10 per player for $300 + lucky door prizes.

Christmas in July – Book you place at our Christmas in July event on Saturday 21 July. The menu is on display in the clubhouse.

Upcoming events – Saturday 7 July is the 2017/18 Men’s Medal of Medals play-off. Thursday 26 July is the Women’s Keno NSW Fourball v Par Event. Sunday 5 August is the first round of the Mixed Foursomes Championships. Tuesday 14 August is the first round of the Vets Championships.

Euchre & Darts & meat raffles – Euchre and Darts is on every Wednesday Night starting at 7.30pm. Come along and have a meal at Melo’s Bistro and play. Meat raffles are drawn every Wednesday and Friday night and around 4.00pm Saturdays.

Super Sunday – The next Super Sunday competition is Sunday 29 July. Come along and play for a chance to win $100 if you win the competition.

The Course – If weather conditions are favourable it looks like the original course format will be back in play on 1 July, ie, the 8th will be back in play. An overwhelming vote of thanks from members and the Board goes to Ross Forsythe for the hard work and many hours put into the rejuvenation of the course generally and the greens especially. Thanks Ross, your hard work is appreciated by all. Also, thanks to Blake Forsythe for the efforts he has put in over the last weeks since back from Iowa.
